Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know a torsion spring from a torsion bar to open a Marlow Garage Door Repair franchise. Most of our owners never touched a garage door before training. What you need is the willingness to follow a system that’s been refined since 2002, hire good people, and treat customers the way The Relay Standard demands. We teach the trade, the software, the hiring, and the marketing. Then we stay on the phone with you after launch, because a franchise that disappears after week one isn’t a franchise. It’s a lease on a logo.
Initial Training
Training starts with the fundamentals of the trade itself. You’ll learn how a torsion spring works, why cable tension matters, and what actually breaks on the eight brands we service: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. No prior garage door experience is required. We start at zero and build from there. But running a garage door business is more than turning wrenches. You’ll also learn the operations side: how to price a job, how to write the written price before any work begins, how to dispatch a technician, and how to handle the 365-Day Done Right Promise when a repair doesn’t hold. That promise is the backbone of the brand, and training covers exactly how to honor it without eating your margin.
Software comes next. The booking platform, the live arrival tracking, the photo uploads, the digital invoicing. You’ll run mock service calls from booking to payment so the tech feels familiar before a single customer calls. Hiring training covers what to look for in a technician, how to screen for the background-checked standard we require, and how to build a crew that shows up on time and treats a driveway like it’s their own. Marketing training walks through local search, service-area maps, and how to launch your first customer-facing pages without making promises you can’t keep. It’s a lot. But it’s structured, and it’s taught by people who’ve actually run these routes.
Launch Support
The weeks around your opening are where most new owners get nervous. We’re on the phone with you daily if needed. Launch support includes setting up your local marketing footprint: your Google Business Profile, your service-area boundaries, your booking page, and your first round of local outreach. The lead engine gets configured before you open, so when the first call comes in, the system is already routing it to your phone, not to a voicemail that never gets checked. Your first ten jobs will feel slow. That’s normal. A coach stays on the line with you through quoting, dispatching, and the after-service follow-up, so the first jobs build the habits that carry the next hundred. You won’t be learning on customers. You’ll be executing a system with someone watching over your shoulder who’s seen where new owners hesitate.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching: Regular check-ins with a coach who’s run garage door routes, reviews your margins, and flags problems before they become patterns.
- Marketing support: The team handles national brand campaigns, local search strategy, and creative assets you can use without hiring an agency.
- Vendor relationships: Negotiated pricing on springs, cables, openers, and parts across the eight brands we service, so you’re not paying retail for inventory.
- Technology updates: The booking platform, live arrival tracking, photo uploads, and digital invoicing get updated continuously, and you’re trained on changes before they roll out.
- Hiring help: Job postings, interview guides, and background-check standards that match The Relay Standard, so you’re not guessing when you bring on a technician.
- Peer network: A direct line to other Marlow owners who’ve faced the same weird spring failure or difficult customer and can tell you what worked.
You’re Never Alone
The brand lives and dies on consistency, and consistency doesn’t happen without support. Call (512) 883-4374 to talk about what opening a Marlow Garage Door Repair location actually looks like, or request more information below.
